Lake Nona is a young and ever-growing community. So much has been added to our lovely town within the past year, but there is still so much more yet to come. Here are a few things you can expect to join the Lake Nona community in the coming years.
One Performance Plaza
One Performance will be an ultra-modern medical office connecting directly to Lake Nona Performance Club. This plaza will be located in Town Center adjacent to Lake Nona Performance Club. Besides the medical office, One Performance Plaza will have a retail building that will also sit adjacent to the office. This retail space will be a total of 12,000 square feet. However, the medical office will comprise around 152,784 square footage. In addition, the medical office building will have View Smart Windows around the entire building. These windows will adjust to the outside environment removing any need to use blinds. Also, One Performance Plaza will feature enhanced bio-defense airing and sterilization techniques to follow Lake Nona’s new viral defense standards to combat Covid-19. Currently, under construction, One Performance Plaza is likely going to be open this fall!
Mixed-Use Office Building will house Dnata Headquarters
This mixed-use office building is currently under construction at 13495 Veterans Way. This building consists of 68,398 square feet and is five stories. Like most tall buildings in the Lake Nona area, this one will also feature retail space at the street level. The upper levels of this mixed-use building will be the remaining 63,540 square feet of office space. Dnata, Dubai National Air Travel Agency, has announced that they will be expanding their U.S. presence by making Lake Nona the home of their U.S. Headquarters. Dnata is an Emirati airport services provider. Their U.S. headquarters will be located within this mixed-use office building. Construction has already been underway, the original completion timeline was set for Spring 2022. As of right now, we do not know when this is office building will open.
SIMCOM Aviation Training
SIMCOM Aviation Training will be a new simulation training facility located off Nemours Parkway in Lake Nona’s Town Center. This is an aviation training company that provides simulator-based training to pilots for Jet, Turboprop, Piston, and Regional Airline Aircraft. This training center will have 12 full-flight simulators that will help teach pilots to fly top-of-the-line aircraft. In addition, this new training facility is estimated to bring around 10,000 pilots to Lake Nona each year. SIMCOM will open in early 2023.
Skylar Towers
Recently announced this year, the Skylar Towers will consist of 3 apartment towers located on Tavistock Lakes Boulevard next to the Landon House apartments. The Skylar Tower is currently labeled to be the tallest building that will be located in Lake Nona. Amongst the three towers, there will be 627 residential units and eight 2-story townhouses. The master plan for this building project, submitted by Tavistock, includes 25,473 square feet of office and retail space. According to Tavistock, Tower A and C are going to be built first, including a 7-story parking garage. As of right now, we know Tower A will consist of 18 stories, housing 221 residential units, including 7308 square footage of retail space; which will attach to an amenity room that will have an outdoor swimming pool and courtyard.
It is so exciting to see the city of Lake Nona grow and become such a visionary sight of the future. We can’t wait to see all these projects completed and bring more opportunities, experiences, and fun to Lake Nona.
